It's all about sharing!

The continual advance of social media through sites like Google+, Facebook, and Twitter has changed the face of the web. It's now easier than ever before to share links, stories, and articles with your friends, and why should it be any different for members here at Atheist Forums?

That is why we've introduced a new social media bar, which will appear at the top and bottom of each thread. With a single click, you can now share the current thread with your friends through various social networking sites, whether you +1 it on Google+, or Like it on Facebook, or even send a quick tweet about it on Twitter.

The following social networking / sharing sites are currently enabled:

Google+
Facebook
Twitter
Reddit
Stumbleupon
Digg
Google Buzz
Delicious
Technorati
FriendFeed
MySpace
Tumblr
Newsvine

Some of the sites above have special JavaScript buttons (top row) which mean you can submit / share the page instantly, but if you don't want to use those, you can still submit the link using the smaller buttons on the bottom row.

Now, go out and share!

Speaking of - instead of starting a new thread I'm going to hijack Adrian's...

If you're friending anyone on Facebook or Google +, please let us know who you are. Some of us might know each other by avatars, but few of us know each other's real names. Most of us have our e-mail listed on our front pages or you can send a message in FB to say "Hey, this is so-and-so from AF."

Just so we know you're not a random creeper. Thanks.

To add to what thesummerqueen said, if you want to do a sort of "PM" on Google+, follow these steps:

1) Start a new Google+ post by typing the person's name after a plus symbol. So for me, you'd put "+Adrian Hayt...". A drop down box should appear after you start typing and you just need to select my name from it.

2) Type your message after you've +'d the name of the person you want to PM.

3) When sharing, remove "my circles" or "public" or whatever you have it set to, and put the person's name again. Make sure they are the only person your post is shared to.

4) Click post.

5) Click the down arrow on the top right of the post, and disable resharing.

Or you set up your profile that only certain circles can send an email to you, which is then visible for those that can under your profile pic. Your email address won't be displayed, just an email sent to that user.
