What you find in the dictionary is not what come from personal experience and from PRACTICAL experience. What you find in the dictionary are THE DEFINITIONS OF WORDS. This allows those words to mean something. If you simply change the definition to suit your interpretation, the word is meaningless. Do you understand? Your buddy spoke of eating sentient food. This means meat. If you have a problem with that, take it up with the guy who said to eat sentient food. Your lack of education is not my problem, it's yours. And you cannot solve it by posting two paragraphs of meaningless drivel that doesn't address the problem, which is that your boy thinks auras can be made and seen by eating meat.
Ton, you live in a world of pure fantasy.
Definition of words well before they come printed in a dictionary come from a cultural system build over hundred if not thousand of years like in this case about the word sentient.
The words sentient, tamasic and rajasic have been used for thousand of years in the eastern religions and yoga and they just mean good, bad and in between good and bad.
These meanings are the real meaning followed by not few hundred or thousand people like in the case of the dictionary but by MILLIONS of people around the world (Hindus, Buddhist, yoga etc).
All you can find in the dictionary is none but a vandalize meaning of their original meaning.
The original meaning originate thousand years ago in the Indian subcontinent not in London or NY where the dictionaries are printed.
Just go among the millions of people that know the real meaning of this world and try to sell your dictionary version of the word sentient.
They will spit in your face.

Yes, yes - we all know what your kind considers "civilized discussion". Which is why most of us don't bother talking to illiterate deluded morons in person.

Because those "reasons" only work on people, who are too stupid/ignorant to comprehend science, philosophy and history.
Wrong. most of what your saying actually agrees with the bible. when it makes sense of course. but whn it come to the purpose in life only god can give you that, and let it make sense. humans think the purpose is something else. nonsense purpose should be something you couldnt fulfill but always will fulfill.

The words sentient, tamasic and rajasic have been used for thousand of years in the eastern religions and yoga and they just mean good, bad and in between good and bad. Really? And these centuries-past eastern people were speaking English at the time, so that they could define "sentient" differently? Why are all of the other words in that guy's comment perfectly easy to understand in the modern age, but only the one word that completely upends your bizarre little apple cart must be viewed in terms of word usage by ancient cultures?
Look, you screwed up. The support you used for one of your beliefs completely messes up one of your other beliefs. You can try to salvage it by re-defining the key word into uselessness, but that only works for a person so locked into his dogmatic view that he would prefer to re-define reality rather than face it. And as I pointed out before, that's your problem, not mine.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Given your tendency to defy convention and define words as you please, answering you is a fool's errand.
Why don't you simply tell us what you think philosophy is instead of playing games with loaded questions?

They wrote in his medical records, "Visited heaven"? Or did they write "Claims to have visited heaven?"
In the first case, the doctor in question should be fired and possibly beaten with a pipe. In the second case, big deal. People claim all sorts of crazy things.
If someone comes back to life, then they weren't "dead", if dead means "cannot come back to life". If dead just means some arbitrary parameters, then all that means is people can come back to life even after being judged dead by those parameters. This is not surprising, since they are arbitrary, even if carefully chosen. So what?

Anecdotal 'evidence' is proof of nothing except perhaps the need for psychiatric help.

(my bold for clarification and direction)
Huh!? The only thing that made sense was my bold. Obviously, English is not your primary language. Can you elaborate a bit and mayhaps we can understand?
