Thank you. I have to disagree with the dominatrix part. I was actually making a lame attempt at joking in the hopes it would chill everyone the fuck out. Well, that and grammar mistakes irritate me, but especially when they are mine. It's not a grammar "nazi" thing. It's a crazy lady thing. Tongue You know how plot holes in books kind of jerk you out of the story for a minute? Incorrect grammar does that to me when I am reading something. I know; I'm really fucking weird. Funny thing is, I fuck up all the time, but mostly don't bother to read what I write unless it is being published.

Should I get my violin out of the closet again Deist?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

RE: Respect in the face of ignorance?
Some of the staff, not all, made a very basic effort to wrangle us all in a bit. The key words "A BIT". The idea that we as a whole should become some kind of fluffy bunny club who don't allow members to speak their mind is PREPOSTEROUS. Nobody on staff ever even considered that. I will be the first one to hand an imbecile his own ass, and I certainly don't want my rivals on this site to lose the privilege of throwing an insult at me occasionally.

As for myself and a handful of others, we felt that a SLIGHT adjustment in the way we interact with new members and each other could be very beneficial.

For the record:

I love Min's brutal one liners. I wouldn't ever want him to feel censored.
Although I don't share his political views. I think RevJer and I probably have very kindred spirits in many ways, and I would hate to lose him.
TheVOID is as lethal as he is smart and despite the fact that he thinks deism is utter stupidity I would still love to meet him someday.
Frodo drives me nuts, but he has grown on me to a point that I realized I was looking for things to dislike. Not anymore.
I don't know Moros Syn very well, cause he keeps to himself, but he always seems to have his shit together.

What's my point? I've openly disagreed and argued with all of these people without resorting to unbridled hostility, and I'm reasonably sure that none of them are currently holding a grudge against me. This is the ONLY message we were trying to impart. When it calls for it - go ahead and rip somebody a new one --- just make sure it's warranted and that you're in control when you do it. I had to learn that same lesson myself when I first arrived here. Syn can vouch for that. I believe Void can too. Sometimes we all just need to be reminded that we're not losing any rights or sacrificing any free speech by simply being a little nicer.

Good thread Napo.
