I read that it was closing...and yet the fed felt it more important to fund relocating the Napa Valley Wine Train's bridge...at the expense of what could have run the lab for another 2 years.

At least we have our priorities.

I read about this last week... how sad to see such passionate people losing jobs in a field that badly needed funded in the US. I saw the documentary based on the Fermilab Tevatron a few years ago called The Atom Smashers just before the LHC opened. I felt that back then they saw the closing coming due to the LHC. It's a shame.
