Lumen just up and leaving at the end of season 5, really really killed it for me. Almost the last 3 episodes were so "anticlimax" that it was pathetic.
Debra let's killer go, and we're suppose to assume she knows it might be her brother? Or it's not? There was no pay off in it at all.
Quinn ignores Dexter because he somehow helped him out for a crime he didn't commit? Oookayy!
Rita's death hardly mentioned at all when she is in fact the only person he had actually loved in his life up to that point? "Okay, we're at a funeral, and we'll mention her name once or twice and that'll be enough of her!" Right, sure Dex is a serious killer and seems to be apathetic about things but Rita was camouflage just as much as she was a lover and it would be devastating blow to someone with a hobby like Dexter's.
Why does Deb still not know her bro is a man slaughterer? In the novels, first book she finds out. Yes, the books are SHIT! with their supernatural crap-tacular supernatural element, but at least they didn't drag on this "Will she, won't she?" bullshit.
Anyway, Lumen was great character, I agree. (I know there are many, many, many people who disagree) But to me, season 5 was still the weakest.
Also, I'm probably in the minority here but I do in fact want Dexter to get caught, he's a god damn serial killer! Plus, if he does get caught maybe we can see some extreme corruption in the MPD, where they offer Dexter semi freedom if he does a little dirty work and then the FBI starts an investigation around that?
Haha.
