I held a 14 year old's hand last week as she got an abortion. She was home schooled, parents were fundies, never heard of a condom, and pregnant by her 16 year old brother. So she says, the DNA test results are pending, but in my professional opinion, it's her father's because he was the one who shamed her into getting an abortion. The brother? No shame upon him whatsoever, of course. The father, who said he was a pro-lifer, said he was only for this because "the baby would be a retard and Satan's child".
See, abortions are only bad when it's not your kid who is probably pregnant with your baby. He was totally against the DNA test, asserting that the scientists who analyze those tests are "loony". He thinks that by telling them it was the brother that the DNA would be identical to his. So if the results come back and it isn't her brother's, we will test her father. If it comes back his, he will be arrested and tried in a court of law, as he should be.
Planned Parenthood also helps get sick fucks off the street. The girl has since been placed in protective custody, and is still being cared for by PP.
I support Planned Parenthood 100% They were there for me when I needed them. It was horrifying to walk through a gauntlet of fundie wingnuts screaming at me, begging me not to murder my child. You deal with that shit all the time, I can't imagine how scary that is for you, Aleialoura. Does your facility have an armed guard?

So glad everything is free in the UK. Me and my partner had a 7 month abortion because of a problem that only 2 other couples in the world have had(some ivy league professor wanted to study our genes) thank fuck we're in the UK, the costs would have been too much and the child would not have had a life(live in hospital, fits almost constantly, a dramatically shorter life etc,(starting to see advantages of pro choice?)). David Camerons mob wanted to lower abortion times here, but that quickly took a back burner.

Yes limits the audience. Absolutely.
Call yourself "Planned Parenting" and that disenfranchises a majority of people in your country (or so you tell me). Why be so nasty? If your [PP's] aim is truly to offer a service to women, why offer it with the huge stigma that it's all about elective abortion?
Some abortion is acceptable to all religious people, but they wouldn't want to use your [PP's] services because of the attached stigma.
It's like the victorians withholding food and shelter for lip service to religion. You're [PP are] no better.
Because "Planned Parenthood" is the focus. Not abortions. Planned Parenthood.. More people come there for free contraception than for any other reason. To plan their parenthood, rather than having a brood of little oopsies.

I just wish MORE people would support Planned Parenthood!! Have something similar here in Oz.
As for abortions I think it is right and proper to terminate a pregnancy but certainly abortion should not be used as an alternative contraception. Adrian...every woman's period is an abortion.
With so many people on the planet now we have the luxury of terminating UNWANTED PREGNANCIES (as contraception doesn't always work ...I have two children thanks to failed contraception) This does not mean I love them any less or more. BUT we ARE talking $$$ financial capability and for a woman like my mother who was SOOOOO fertile.... dooming a female to be continually "bare foot and pregnant" is a disgusting thing to do.
