When I found the language article, this was on the front page and as a migraine sufferer, I thought I'd share. I actually didn't get "diagnosed" with migraines until relatively recently and was told I was simply getting sinus headaches and the like. Fortunately my doctor now is a peach. I've got the proper meds and carry them everywhere with me.
It's important to state that the symptoms vary, as well as triggers, and you should get yourself thoroughly checked out and explore your diet and activities. Just as Sae complained in the shoutbox that the pain was so much from her toothache that she was mixing pain meds, I used to do the same hoping to knock out the horrible inevitability of a tightness that turned into a throbbing around my sinus cavities, then would ring around my left eye, then splinter into a spiderweb of pain over my temple and finally melt into heat and agony running down to my neck. If I couldn't get home, I would sit at work sweating and trembling from the effort to hold it together. Only rarely do I suffer from "auras" and my light sensitivity isn't too bad, but sound would become awful.
Sometimes I won't have one for a month or two, and sometimes I have them packed densely within a few weeks. It's worth getting medication for even if you have them only once a year.
