At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Oh by the way Lucent, I just want to be sure I understand you clearly:
A god that creates a universe too big for it to micromanage = moral monster A god that creates a universe and, due to being omnipotent, omniscient and capable of personal relationship with all of us is capable of preventing needless suffering but chooses not to micromanage because that would violate free will = OK A bit more brief: Unable to prevent evil = moral monster Able but not willing to prevent evil = OK

Amusingly Statler is trying to fob off some half baked explanation of the trinity to me in a separate thread. Perhaps I should refer him here.
