I really hate Britain at times.
Even Brexit won't change our stupid gun laws.

Or could it be that the original rule was flawed and overly restrictive. Has anyone read the original rule? It extends further than just "mentally ill".

Repealing it was still a mistake. It should have been re-written with more specific details of what qualifies for reporting.
And this gun guy is still in favor of stricter gun control.
Ok, so based on the Snopes article and a little casual web searching I did myself, the disorder most often that falls into the category of 'severe mental illness' is long-term schizophrenia. Some of the more common symptoms are: hallucinations, false perceptions of reality, paranoia, bizarre behaviours, delusions, depressions, anxiety, anger/rage, and sudden, uncontrollable shifts in mood.
Yup. These are the people you want packing a Glock.

I didn't see anywhere in what I have read that "sever mental illness" is mentioned or defined in the rule/regulation.
Again, repealing was a mistake. A rewrite should have been done.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

That description fits all of the cops. So now cops will be able to carry guns.

They already do.
So much for gun control. It's a bullshit policy designed to disarm the law abiding members of society.
