Personally I'm conflicted about the amount of control I want over my dog. I don't resent her having doggy desires and agendas. I wouldn't want a dog that only existed to follow my commands. In short, if I were my dog's God I wouldn't want the slavish self-abnegation Christians so often exhibit. Then again, I do want them to heed me to keep them safe.
Got to have a certain amount of control for our activities: show, tracking, herding, service work (for my wife's limited vision). Especially when they are off leash. But that's for the outside world. In our little world they get controlled very little, limited mostly to training. They love training because they know they'll get rewards.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.
