It's Ireland, there's a blanket ban on smoking indoors in public places. Plus it's the building of a state body (the public appointments service), so no chance of selling fags or cigars.

You say it like that's a bad thing. As an asthmatic (who does occasionally indulge outdoors with a cigar), I am eternally grateful for those bans. Something about cigarette smoke is particularly heinous, especially in a confined space.

That's beautiful. The one thing I don't like about where I'm at is that the trees don't turn in autumn, like they do in northeast Texas.

On the smoking ban I'm for it except when I'm in the pub in the depths of winter, I don't smoke.

One of my best friends took me out to celebrate his job promotion...and let me know he was moving away. -_- But he took me to a refurbished speakeasy that does fancy cocktails and fancy small-plate food (holy motherfucking god the scallops. LIKE BUTTAH.) I had the *best* Manhattan I've ever had there.

Me: Dress up?
Him: Twist my arm, yeah?

Also he brought back a stellar white wine from his recent trip to Italy. It was as bright and clear as cold water, and mellowed on the tongue. Wine and I don't even get along mostly these days but this stuff was ace.



And then I dressed up like a banana nazi.
