What verse?
Genesis 1:27-28English Standard Version (ESV)
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Matthew 19:4-6English Standard Version (ESV)
4 He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
These two quotes both relate to a man and woman joining in a union, becoming "one flesh", and multiplying. Two men or two women cannot multiply. I'll grant you that the bible doesn't specifically condemn marriage between people of the same sex, but the bible condemns sexual relations between them. So if same sex marriage is OK according to the bible, it would have to be a marriage without sexual relations.
so gay marriage wasnt addressed at all only heterosexual marriage was addressed in the bible . you interpret that to mean God is against gay marriage thats the problem with interpretation it always supports a persons predjudice because the wording is vague enough to be interpreted any way the interpreter wants .
Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you will join us And the world will be as one - John Lennon
