Humans are scum

Honestly I was just feeling depressed; I can't help but mull over the awful things people have done to each other, continue to do. So much wasted, untold suffering, so much stupidity. I'm too much of an idealist for my own good and it leads to abject disappointment in the ways things are.

I haven't got a too high opinion of us, as a species, either. But, as I said before, individuals can still be nice, even if their political, religious or social affiliations are abysmal. It's only the group, motivated by whatever, that gives me the creeps. One of the best proofs for Darwin's theory, since we're acting the same way as our closests relatives.
