I rather expect the investigation to get to the bottom of things, or at least determine if there is a findable bottom to things; and whether their testimony matches or conflicts with the FBI's findings. You seem to be saying that if they're lying now, they'll lie under oath. It's likely, but not necessarily so. Lying now isn't a felony.
Lying to Congress can put you in jail, even if you're not under oath

Lying now, to the public, not to congress. I'm sorry my meaning was so difficult to parse.

Accusations. And again, this is not a court of law, fitness for the position is the question before congress. If it were a court of law, Senator McConnell's indication that he is determined to vote yes on the confirmation would result in a mistrial, because in a real trial, the jury is supposed to be impartial and wait until all the evidence is in before reaching their decision.

How many times must it be pointed out that Feinstein waited until Ford gave her consent before she went ahead with presenting the allegation. That's what you're supposed to do. Wait for consent....

Republicans don't stoop to the level of raising vague unsubstantiated allegations to a public smear campaign.
Um...Gorsuch was Trump's nominee to replace Scalia. Why on earth would Republicans try to smear their own guy? How can it possibly be to their credit that they didn't?
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
