This is exactly what I did because some Jesus' sayings on the Gospel are clearly not related to his main message (but I will not go on about this here).
But, to me, the cursing of fig tree is one of the symbolic acts which show how 'hell' is simply the returning back to the inert state (the state before one's birth) and not an eternal place for torture as Muslims and Jews are supposed to believe.
