If for instance he had mentioned the Nile drying up, then in hundreds or thousands of years when the Nile does dry up, people like yourself would be running round saying "look! the prophecy was fulfilled!".
Likewise, if he'd said *insert name of river that dried up hundreds of years ago* the people back then would have been pointing to that as a prophecy.
All we are saying is that given a length of time, any inevitable will happen. Any named river will dry up. It's about as prophetic as saying "The sun will rise"...it just takes longer for it to happen...
