If god says something is a sin, then it is a sin for us to do that thing.
In it's simplest form, yes.
Baalb Wrote:However, if god does that thing, its not a sin because he is the creator and is therefore exempt from right and wrong because, by default, everything he does is right.
You need to give an example of what you believe God has done wrong.
To much generalization in your question.
Baalb Wrote:So it is really a situation of do as I say not as I do.
Do I have that about right?
No.

When Satan rebelled and then tempted Adam and Eve into his mistake the creation could no longer reflect God's righteousness.
Ryan Wrote:If the boss had that power, would it be his right to do whatever he wanted?
As I said the boss can't do that, you want to speculate on the impossible for man, it's of no consequence to this .
Ryan Wrote:Does having power make everything you do just and righteous, all by itself?
No, and I said so in my statement of why God is the perfect standard, please go back and read what I actually stated, you're rehashing things already explained, bring new questions, please.
Ryan Wrote:If I was all-powerful and I created you, would it be moral for me to skin you alive and then soak you in alcohol?
What do you think, is that a righteous action/attitude, is that morally acceptable?
Ryan Wrote:Would it be righteous for me to give your kid muscular dystrophy? Would it be acceptable to know your kid had muscular dystrophy yet do nothing about it?
No, you are not a righteous person according to scriptures, so how could you possibly be a righteous judge. I know what you're try to get at but, we can not always understand the omniscient decisions God makes. To quote God "Your ways are not my ways and your thoughts are not my thoughts, in other words we can not understand why God does some things, I wish I could it would help in life.
Ryan Wrote:It is obvious you are avoiding the question because the implications are unavoidable. You can't even claim I'm trapping you, because you made the claim that absolute might makes absolute right.
What question, I've answered all the questions that I saw as relevant. I did not say that, again you are putting words into my statements that I did not, that is dishonest.[/quote]
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
