Right. You throw yourself completely and utterly into an unfounded, non-evidential religious belief to fill the void in your life because you've been conditioned to believe that there is a void in the first place and that the only thing that could possibly fill that void is the Lord.
No it's just human nature, without God humans will covet a multitude of gods. Back in the day they may have been literal idols to worship in a temple but these days the gods are stuff and addictions of the modern world. Drugs and alcohol abuse and whatever being peoples gods of choice. However once you come to the knowledge of the one true God that will become the central focus rather than the other stuff. Here we go.
Now that's some good preachin right there.
Quote:the person convinces you that you're sick, and then they tell you that they can make you all better when there was nothing wrong with you to begin with.
The sickness is sin and what you see people get up to with all these various addictions, compulsions, obsessions and all their flaws and failings demonstrate this point as a reality. Don't think this stuff was all "made up" it's human life in reality for real.
So that's the sickness, but here is the cure!
Though I'm sure other religions work as well though they are all based on works not grace given freely. If you're a Muslim you have to do this that and the other for instance.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.
