Perhaps if you can suggest a third option so as to demonstrate the dichotomy, instead of simply asserting it and claiming victory, you might find people more willing to trust your honesty and engage you in debate.

Since I have not "claimed victory" anywhere in this thread, I will disregard your comment. The third option seems to be obvious, one he failed to mention and one that he should have stated instead of speaking of "evidence" and that is: or presuppose there's no god.
Do you have something in mind you would like to debate?
