I mean, you watch the news polaris..you've seen what we (as in the state) do when we think that no eyes are upon us, eh? IMO, shit probably ought to be on PBS. I think it should be up to the family if there is any to choose to watch the execution or not. As for the method, the most painless, less degrading and more humane should be used. We could say a bullet to the head is humane and painless, but human rights organizations would consider it degrading to human dignity since it's not a pretty image, it's how they execute people in China. I also think the convict should be able to spend a few hours with his family before the execution. Not that I care about this much, in europe the death penalty has been abolished and the EU forbids it, the ECHR also forbid it definitely for member states. As for life in jail, I think it could be a viable option.
