Perhaps 'personhood' would be the word. A caveat - the soul needs to be guarded against unrighteous behavior since it's been tainted with the sin nature.
Does this mean metaphorically, or that our whole body is our soul? Or just our brain? Or what?
So what does the brain do, if the bit that does all the driving is separate from it? And why is it that brain injuries can alter the personality, if the two are unconnected?
