It's ethnocentric for much the same reason it's called the Roman catholic church and was born from western European culture.

I don't think Islam is quite as diverse as Christianity.
Don't you agree though, that even though it was born from European culture, the fact that so many other cultures from around the world are Catholic, makes it a pretty culturally diverse religion?
