Political Correctness Run Amok

This is one of the most ridiculous "teacher fired for..." stories I've read.

I also found this gem from another article on the story.

Smith’s attorney, Shaun Reid, called the charge that allegedly led to his client’s termination ridiculous.

“They haven’t even accounted for how absurd it is for someone who’s black to be using a racial slur to a student,” Reid told the Post.

Apparently it's absurd to think that black people can use racial slurs. So, no black person ever has used a racial slur against Mexicans, Jews, Latinos, heck, even white people? Bullshit.

Yeah I caught that in the original article too.

She was teaching the Spanish words for different colors, and the color "black" in Spanish is "negro." She also taught the junior high school students, in this bilingual school, that the Spanish term for black people is "moreno." And by the way, Smith, who is from the West Indies, is black.

It's a really fucked up form of political correctness when your identifying that someone said something that could be considered "racial" to a group, but it's ok, because she's part of that group.
