Speaking of christians and qanon and theocrats...a majority of evangelical christians are republican, and are more likely than democrats or the general public to express belief in qanon. "Q" was quoting magic book from the getgo.
Evangelicals have done most of the contemporary work in christian dominionism, though a marriage of convenience was made with dominionist catholics for the shared use of "the catholic issue" as a cultural wedge. They're the same people, qanon nuts, and evangelical nuts. It takes a person who believes in satan to believe that they're doing battle with god against satan - and his demoncrat minions. To believe that the donald is still the president by decree of god and living prophets. To believe that our society must be built and defined and organized as exclusively christian.
Christian dominionism, which includes qanon nuts, is, ofc, dangerous. Always has been. Politically dangerous, sure, but even more....acts of domestic christian terrorism began the moment that christians set foot on the continent, themselves often enough fleeing other acts of domestic christian terrorism and it's political arm.
Here's Ed Stetzer, the Executive Director of The Billy Graham Center at Wheaton, positively losing his shit about it, back in september.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
