Feelings, coincidental outcomes that seem to have sprung forth from prayer, opinion, etc...are not based on objective reality. It is far better for a religious person to say, "I choose to believe that God exists," rather than "Jesus is alive!"
But, such is life when you have lost touch with reality and live your life half planted in a fantasy world. :/ I don't mean that in an offensive way; I truly think that religion robs a person of a valuable life firmly planted in reality.
