Reason #10: The Embarrassing Errors

OK, so there are contradictions in the story ...everywhere ...at almost every part ...even on important subjects that the eye-witnesses should have gotten straight like "what decade was Jesus born in" and "how many days after the resurrection did Jesus fly up into the sky."

Not to worry, fellow believers. We can shine this turd up real pretty by calling them "embarrassing errors". This works to our advantage because if it had all been a lie, the disciples would surely have done a better job of getting their story straight.

...unless they were many different authors writing their own fac fic elaborations on the basic story passed along by word of mouth similar to the modern process of internet urban legends but that's just crazy talk. It just doesn't fit with the basic apologetic dilemma of either a group of well-organized conspirators just made the whole thing up or it's all true.

As the early Christian apologist Tertullian famously wrote, "Credo quia absurdum" or "I believe it because it is absurd." If the religion had just been made up, no one would have concocted such an absurd tale.

After all, it's not like the early Church fathers were bad science fiction writers or anything.

I'm just going to keep shoveling until I find Jesus.
