I don't think we would have missed it... I imagine something like this, St. Matthews Equation:

And Jesus spake unto his disciples and said: "There shall be a quantity, which the Lord, our God, hath made such that it change in tyme and in place. And the Lord, our God, hath commanded that it shall obey Him, and He hath given laws it shall obey according to His will."
