The Evidences of Modern Science like finding the Human Genome, discovering DNA, finding out we live in a vast cosmic ocean called the Universe not a bubble from a god-figure.. far trump anything found before Newton or Darwin.

What exactly does "Unfortuneatly" mean under religious views? do you lack the skills to learn word structure? or are you using that ironically like "oh yes oh course I have views on religion" either way it's a stupid thing to put in a beliefs box.

And what kind of Atheist says "empirical evidence"? none I've ever heard. You sound like Ray Comfort right now.

This isnt common knowledge for you that Atheism is growing to large numbers in Europe especially Scandinavia? Go ahead and google the numbers yourself but here's a video for your pleasure.

Can you rephrase that gibberish please?

I actually did, you just quoted me within 2 fuckin minutes after I wrote it. Lets change the phrasing to "with or without religions help, and religion is also a hinderance on that science"

But they are very important to you, apparently. Big Grin

It was just a simple poke at you for being so sure about yourself that Atheism is this small minority that would take 1000 years to take hold, you're the one full of shit when Atheists or Non Believers in general outnumber almost every other religious denomination in America not named Christianity.

Two things:

1) you're pretty prejudgmental, aren't you?

2) FYI: America is not the world, my friend. In fact America is less than 4% of the world! Religion – or superstition, whatever you want to call it, is, and always has been rampant among the billions, sir!
America is insignificant in the grand scheme of things. America is not representative for what is or will be happening in the whole world. It's even far from sure "atheinisation" in America will progress from this point forward. That it would is an assumption on your part.

1) If I think you're wrong, yes.

2) That's why I provided you with a video that shows that Atheist nations or Atheist leaning countries are happier and more successful countries. I.E. Sweden. And a lot of people believe in gods because they are uneducated, the bad thing about 1st world countries is that they know better and pretend like there's no evidence for things like Evolution or that it's a theory in the colloquial sense. The world is getting educated faster than ever before with the advances in technology and it'll only get better. I am the one being optimistic saying that reason will trump faith in the long run.

Optimism is unfounded belief denying historical evidence...

Historical evidence of what? You didn't provide evidence that Atheism is a small minority and you didnt disprove that Atheism is growing fast in Europe.

And No, actually Optimism is Positive Thinking and I base mine on reasonable expectations, not faith. If I had faith I would pray and say I know for a fact that Atheism will sweep through the world. Hell no, I'm not sure of that, but if there are no holy wars and things stay on the right track of ending wars not killing each other as much, yeah its very reasonable to say that most people will be Non believers in the supernatural. Especially in a future where we can explain so much more, do you have any idea how far Science will be along in 100 years? You havnt read much into future technologies and practices and what it implications they holds have you? If someone can demonsterable show you evidence that's peer reviewed, that everything you are (soul) is in your brain (which they can) without a shadow of a doubt then a lot of people are forced to look at their views of an afterlife and hopefully if their smart enough, get rid of the superfluous baggage.

Historical evidence, mountains of it, of the lack of progress atheism made in the past half millennium.

I have to agree with Hitchslap on this one. The internet alone has made so much information available supporting atheism and deconstructing religion (namely Christianity). The younger generations are closest to this explosion of open communication and 'atheist' media. They are also increasingly secular and further removed from religious upbringing. Within 100 years at least half the world will openly be atheist, there will always be some 'closet' atheists to add to that lot, and a whole bunch of fringe believers. Fundamentalism will be very rare and more and more marginalized. But this is just a projection of the way things OUGHT to go. Just what kind of political/propaganda interference or global catastrophes that can alter this trend are also a huge variant factor. For example, WWIII or anything that has the capability to reduce humankind back to the most basic and primitive survivalism and desperation, can set the advance of reason over faith back another thousand years. So if all bodes well and the NEwWOrldOrder doesn't completely incinerate populations into nuclear dust and round up the living into corporate slaves within 100 years, then our grandchildren should be O.K.
You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting.

I would agree with the 2nd half of what you said, Rokcet. But more so the last 100 or so years since, like I said, they didn't have DNA or the complex idea of a Universe we have today for most of the later half of the millennium.

It would be interesting if you're expectations were met. But, like I said, history gives no confidence at all that it will. And even if it were so, whether it would be beneficial for mankind is yet another question.

Look at it this way, history can't account for the things we know now and how far we've gotten in just recent years.
