Theists would initially try to move the goalposts, or redefine their beliefs and say the human soul itself is a form of energy not properly understood yet and like energy cannot be created or destroyed, but merely convert its form from one to another.
Consequently, if true, or if that's the assertion they're forced to retreat to then their monotheistic world-view is now fucked as this means no god created the human soul. Either there is no god and everything keeps getting reincarnated (Buddhism), or we are God (Pandeism). You can't move the goalposts forever, eventually you'll fall off a cliff.
