Difficult Marriage Situation

She is 25 and should be making up her own mind, however it seems you are leaving out something about this relationship, or you would have let us know what's going on with her that she would not just leave town and marry you.
If I was here parents I would not want her to marry Harold if she does not love him, I would not want her to marry you because you're not a christian. This said I would recognize that she is 25 and can make up her own mind. I would not love her less because she married a non christian, I would appeal to her christian heritage that she would ask you to go to church with her. After that there would not be much I could do except to love you as a son-in-law. Before you call the police about Harold you should talk with her, if you do not you could ruin your relationship with her. I know how you feel I went through the same thing, result, fell in love with another and we have been married for 33 years, so if you lose out to Harold all is not lost, there is another out there for you.

This post actually does strike me as fake. I didn't want to say anything at first, in case it was real, but other people seem to be having doubts as well, (which re-affirms my suspicions) so I'll throw my 2 cents in.

I think the OP is either leaving out key details, or he's staging this as a social experiment. Either way, he hasn't posted back- which indicates that he's just reading our responses to collect data.

I'm not going to assume that it's for data collection purposes, but that has been happening lately. However, there's a considerable chance that this isn't fake, in which case our previous responses would still be valid. Either way, it's very dubious that the author would show up with such a serious issue and not think to reply back or elaborate on the currently unrealistic subject matter. As it stands, this scenario would require a significant degree of indoctrination.

I felt the same, that's why I started my post the way I did, to show concern for few important details, however I finished it the way I did just encase.

Kate should pack her things while they're out and move in with a trustworthy friend without saying a word to her parents. Get a job, save up enough cash to either pay her friend rent or move out to her own place.

At the very least this seems to be a complicated situation simplified to such an extent that our input would be useless. I have supsicions just as the others do that this is a false story.

That being said, you could always just fuck the guy up yourself and let him know that he needs to disappear.
