Yes, Clap great plan. Why didn't I think of that sooner? Thinking

Because it took my greatness to realise the easiest way forward. I don't blame you that you aren't as awesome as I am at evil schemes.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Because calling the cops in response to abuse would likely get her put even further under surveillance.

It's her life, and telling of her abuse should be her decision.

That isn't to say the OP shouldn't talk to her about it extensively.

Still deserves a real answer, in my opinion. So I'm giving that. Smile

Perhaps valid... though I mostly disagree that they are good for the person in question.

Kate should probably dump both of you and marry a Protestant who loves her "according to knowledge," if that's what is best for Kate, I would think.

Step 1. Be pressured into marriage by catholic parents.
Step 2. Have friend telling entire atheist forum instead offering you a place to stay.
Step 3. ???
Step 4. Profit.

You are forgetting the first rule of Christianity. It's not bigotry as long as you believe that god agrees with you.

I have no comment on whether or not the OP is genuine; however it may be of interest that a certain "FrankBunne" also posted this as his sole post over at Catholic Answers Forums a full day before it appeared here.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
