On Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at approximately 6:18 p.m., Vinton Police and North Benton Ambulance were dispatched to 1207 W. 4th Street for a report of a teenager who had sustained a gunshot wound. Officers learned that another teenager had been handling a .22 caliber rifle, when the rifle was discharged, striking a 14 year old female in the head.

But I love this line!

There is no threat to the public and this investigation is ongoing at this time.

As if ignorant fuckheads with guns are not a threat to the public.

PATERSON -- Two men received treatment for gunshot wounds Wednesday in an apparent accidental shooting, police said.

A preliminary investigation suggests they were shot when a second security guard's gun went off accidentally, Rodriguez said.

Seems far more likely that one of the dickheads pulled the trigger.

Jakob Whitfield, 21, of Metairie, was booked with false swearing against public health or safety after authorities say he false reported that he had been shot during an attempted armed robbery. A hunter was accidentally shot in the face by another hunter Tuesday while both were hunting pheasant in Dodge County, authorities reported.

The 43-year-old Mukwonago man was injured when a 58-year-old Richfield man fired a shotgun at a flying pheasant and struck the victim in the face with bird shot, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said.

I guess these "hunters" weren't sufficiently trained in the anatomical differences between a pheasant and a human?


Oh, yeah...another one of those guns that just decides to "go off."

CHESTER >> A city man is charged with attempted homicide after he claimed the sawed-off shotgun he was holding accidentally discharged, hitting his live-in girlfriend in the arm.

The girlfriend, whose name was not released, was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center for treatment. Her condition was unavailable.

Clarence Goldsmith, 31, allegedly told police the shooting was accidental.

He allegedly admitted that just prior to the argument with his girlfriend, he and the friend were drinking and smoking marijuana.

Goldsmith told detectives that his girlfriend left the house, then returned a short time later while he was in the bedroom “disarming” the shotgun, according to the affidavit.

Why is it that guns never seem to go off before an argument?

The Lancaster man was taken to Fairfield Medical Center after suffering a gunshot wound to his left hand, according to police reports. The round reportedly went through the fingers of his left hand as he was placing the gun into his sweatshirt pocket.

He told Lancaster police that he was on his way out the door to sell the gun when it went off.

A pawn shop employee accidentally shot herself in the hand while showing a customer a handgun Tuesday morning.

An employee at Top Dollar Jewelry & Loan, located in downtown Albemarle at 151 West Main St., was making sure a 9 mm caliber automatic handgun contained no live bullets when it suddenly discharged, according to Albemarle police.

Apparently...it did!

Once the deputy rendered the apartment building safe, he attempted to holster his weapon. In doing so, the butt of the weapon was caught in his jacket while he holstered. Not knowing that the butt of his weapon was caught in his jacket, the deputy attempted to holster the weapon, which resulted in one single round being shot from his weapon. The projectile struck the cement floor located outside of the apartments.
