Well, I can only speak or myself, but I married a woman because she -already did- "make me happy" (in truth, thats not how it worked out for us but I understand what you mean s meh). Definitely didn't marry her on any belief about the future. I was content enough with the present. I go to churches all the time (not relative to the religious, mind you...but relative to how often i go to a strip club - for example). I'm the guy with the smoker that cooks the pork - it's a pretty choice gig. But as far as "church gods" go, it's not a matter of belief for me in any case. I'm not that kind of atheist.

You drive on a road whit GPS. GPS might show you wrong directions but you trust, believe it.
You vote for a particular person in government, because you believe in him.
You have particular friends whit who you might share your secrets and problems, because of trust, belief in them.
You loan someone big sum of money because you think, believe its worth it.
People go to casino whit belief that they will win.
We all still are alive and moving forward because we hope, belief that someday we will achive true happiness.
Shutout hope, belief for happiness there is no life.

Faith still is the base of our personality.
You cant prove if God exists or not, we can only believe, presume.

What is priority and most cherished thing in our life what we think most of the time is our God by definition.
It can be family, pleasure, idols, progress, art, country, nature, alien's, God.
Overall direction of our attention shows what God or Gods we have.

I don;t recall having named any of my children god - nor would I understand why it would be useful to call them such - but if all you mean by "god" is "rhythms kids" then they exist...and it isn't very difficult to prove.

If you for most time of your life only had family in your mind then they are your Gods. You devote your life(all energy, money, attentin)to them, they are your Gods.
Devotion or obsession, passion, hopes for happiness - God.

I think that any of the words you used before the word god were adequate. God, to me, seems like a useless descriptor at this point.
(what was all that stuff about 3 gods and millions or some such of demigods...if all there is are my children...well, none of them are called vishnu, shiva, or brahma)

Intelligence is choosing healthy things.
Soul chooses goodness, God.
Minds Gods are - what gives pleasure.
Intelligence Gods are - progress, gradation.
Souls master is Love, God.
