Two excellent reasons to OPPOSE gay marriage in the UK
RE: Two excellent reasons to OPPOSE gay marriage in the UK
First of all, gay marriage laws are not for churches to be forced to marry gay people, it is for the legal marriage, the one you go to a notary to sign, even if you are a muslim, making a ceremony in a mosque, you still have to register it in the notary (or have one at the church/mosque). There is two sides of a marriage, the personal and the legal. The personal is usually call the ceremony, usually in churches, mosques, beaches, its not even mandatory. For the marriage to be recognized by the state, the two must sign a binding contract in the presence of an authority (usually a notary).

Tell me mo, what part of human progress does gay marriage hinders? If we are going by that, your putrid religion hinders progress much more, I mean, countries where islam rules are still on the 12th century. If gay marriage somehow hindered human progress and that was a reason to forbid it, then alot of religions, if not all should be forbidden too.

It's quite evident you have no idea how UK legislation works, why don't you read up on that on your spare time? Portugal does have an out-of-control unemployment rate after all, it's unlikely people have anything much to do there. Why don't you try to find a job in one of the Muslim countries, I hear Qatar and Dubai are open for business in the summer?

You know, I'd be more persuaded of the notion that Muslims and Christians have a reliable guide to the high road if I would occasionally see them traveling upon it.

What does the portuguese unemployment rate have to do with the subject at hand? There are reasons for our current predicaments, none to do with gay marriage. I mean, wtf? Can you stop diverting from the subject at hand?

'mo' can't and you know it LP. 'mo' has no argument nor original thought outside his holly book of toilet paper.

Oh the irony. What does the predicament of Muslim countries have to do with anything? What does the fact that some country in the Middle East is stuck "in the 12th century" have to do with the issue at hand? Take a look at wtf you're talking about you big tough green mod. You're always right because you're green, aren't you? Smile

I ain't even going to talk to KN, fuck she's so damn old, get the fuck out of here.

It has, because I made an analogy and a damn apt one as why we shouldn't forbid something just because it is perceived by some as detrimental to progress. I'll explain it in simpler terms so you can understand: Just because you think gay marriage is detrimental to human progress, untill you can back up your claims, you can't argue for it being forbidden. That would be equivalent to me saying that islam should be forbidden just because there are muslims out there that are stuck in the 12th century, got it? Or do I need to make a drawing so you can understand?

I know what I am talking about and I am, before being a mod, a normal user with the right to to participate on this forum. If I was speaking to you as a mod, it would be by PM (with the exception of speed bumps when several members engage on flame wars or thread locks). It isn't the first time you try to accuse the staff of abusing power to make our personal opinions more valid. That is a lie, a sheer dishonest rethoric tactic to avoid and deflect from the inanities you say.

So, will you stay on topic or will you keep deflecting the issues that undermine your flawed reasoning?

Seriously, what the fuck are you talking about? Since when did I talk about "human progress", making a strawman isn't an argument. Repeating the same bullshit doesn't suddenly give it more value.

Fucking hell, that response was a bit unhinged. I was joking when I made that comment you know, no need to get your knickers in a twist. What the fuck is wrong with some people on here.
