RE: Free(from)ThoughtBlogs
The most annoying thing is that people who think atheists are creeps who are no better than theists in their behaviour get to cite PZ as an example of why they are right. The Atheism+ brigade going at it, whilst at the same time criticising all who don't fit into their narrow, self-serving definition of what atheists are/should be so as not to rock their little clique.

Doing more harm than good. Of course, maybe the girl was raped, maybe she wasn't able to give consent. We don't know all the facts. Funny because neither does PZ, but seems like he's made his mind up already, based on a (seemingly) dodgy tesimonial with no supporting evidence.

It becomes very hard to actually form an opinion on this thing.

But if you suppose for a moment that this actually happened, giving an detailed account would make it easy for people to identify you. Then you'll be dealing with a lot of negative attention and something very private and traumatizing would come out in the open. But at the same time, you want to warn other women, so you tell someone to spread this sort of vague accusations.

I mean, that is, supposing it happened.

What I find unbelievable is that 5 different people told this girl that they were raped as well. Why would they tell her that? How did they even know who she was if she's been hiding her identity so well? And if all 5 of these girls are her friends, it seems very unlikely that they would all fall victim to the same person.

What I meant to say...... well..

Let`s just say I knew who he was and I have been suscribed to the channels of AronRa, Thunderf00t and others for several years now. I have also been suscribed to PZ Mayers for quite a long time.

But, When someone turns into an asshole, I do not spend time continuing to be suscribed and being angry over this matter. I simply no longer follow what that person does and instead of being annoyed, I ignore him and his little bunch of moronic followers.

PZ Myers Wrote:Boy, I really do hate these guys. You’ve got a discussion going, talking about why you’re an atheist, or what atheism should mean to the community, or some such topic that is dealing with our ideas and society, and some smug wanker comes along and announces that “Atheism means you lack a belief in gods. Nothing more. Quit trying to add meaning to the term.” As if atheism can only be some platonic ideal floating in virtual space with no connections to anything else; as if atheists are people who have attained a zen-like ideal, their minds a void, containing nothing but atheism, which itself is nothing. Dumbasses.

He's this kind of person.

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I'm very ignorant of all the "atheist leaders", I only read Dawkins' stuff on evolution and I sometimes listen to Hitchens and Harris cos they're fun.

I am annoyed when people talk of atheism as an "movement"

What movement? How is that movement structured? Who leads it? Do I have a say in it?

I am an individual who came to be an atheist out of personal expiriences and not because I wanted to join some group.

And everyone who claims to be a "leader" of this non existant "movement" can suck my dick.

So much for being a skeptic.
