Why is God treated like a retarded and selfish child?

You're the one who's afraid of imaginary monsters, not me. I'm not exactly shaking in my boots.

Quote:They didn't create the genome they passed to you. There's a reason we say parents PROcreate or REproduce life, rather than create or produce it.

Actually, we say reproduce because they're making another one of the species, not some larger meta-copying. But I'm glad that you're reduced to silly linguistic tricks when you can't rebut the actual content of my reply; it definitely will be apparent to anyone reading how weak your position is.

Quote:Again, procreate and reproduce.

Are you going to tell me that creation needs a creator, next?

Quote:You started it, but don't like it having turned around on you.

You are genuinely lacking in any sense of self awareness, aren't you?

I think other people understand my point just fine, but if you don't, here's an analogy. Suppose Fred buys all the materials and tools to build a house for a needy family, and Greg actually builds the house. By your reasoning, Greg should get all the credit. In reality, Fred will be given credit too.

You like speaking in parables? I can definitely see the Christian in you. Why would your god banish me from heaven if I don't hate my family? That's kind of extreme and selfish isn't it?

Is either Greg or Fred allowed to smash the house once its built and the family has moved in? Or would that be frowned upon?

Now, imagine Greg built the house out of materials that occur in nature, and then Fred's friend John walked up and demanded that Fred provided those materials, without providing any evidence, and against all rationality, and then tells the poor family moving in that, someday, Fred will come to smash down the house and kill the people living in it, because that's his right. He made the house, after all.

Would you be okay with that?

No, I like just pointing out that god is the creator of the universe and have people understand that, even though he set us up as a reproducing race, he ultimately should get credit for giving us life. I use analogies if people refuse to see that plain logic.

You can't be banished from heaven until you're in heaven, and you're not in heaven, so this doesn't make sense.

If they hadn't deeded it to the family, sure, they could do that. Interestingly I just spoke to a guy yesterday who had to evict tenants from a rental property because they were trashing the place. Now he's considering whether it's more practical to repair the building or just remove it and sell the lot. All within his rights.

Sorry, lost the analogy. Can you clarify?

Then why do you have to bow to him? Why do you have to sing songs for him? Why do you even have to say ridiculously long prayers to him?

If a god was infinitely more powerful than everything else, it wouldn't give one single damn about people bowing or singing songs to him.

Because humans are the babies in reality, we want attention and we want to feel important so humans concoct gods as a reflection of their own desires.

lol... really? You wanna bring plain logic into this argument? Do I even need to rebut this? Nah.... you can't help being delusional.

Ok let me word it in a different way you can understand... how can I make it into heaven anyway since I love my family. Your god says I have to hate my family to see heaven so I'm screwed right there

Yes, sure, yes, your opinion is noted.

Post the passage if you want to discuss it.

Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Although I admit that I was wrong about seeing heaven, Jesus is still speaking against his other teachings. I can never be a disciple of Christ therefore I can never know him and will be cast away because of such

Yes, these words go against other teachings. Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love god, and the second to love your neighbor. Considering that, do you think it's possible that the verse above is hyperbole?

If you're taking each verse separately and literally, then I won't be saved either, as the next verse is:
27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

and I've never literally borne a cross. Is it possible that this is a figure of speech referring to hardships caused by faith in general, and not specifically to bearing a cross?
