RE: Discussion about morals
Yes. And I concur with what Adrian and Meatball said.

Hmmmm...

Yet 'murder' as we would call it, is another man's 'Honor'. In some societies today 'honor killing' is the moral thing to do. You would be considered 'Immoral', in these societies, if you did not carry out murder.

In some societies today it is considered 'immoral' not to sell your daughter when she is between 8-14 years old. Modern day primitive societies true, but still human societies.

Moral constructs are highly subjective.

Murder and Warfare are two different things.

What?

Who said anything about warfare?
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

Murder is the senseless killing of a person IMO - Retribution through Law (death penalty) and War don't really count imo, neither would a fight to death in a ceremonial setting.

Senseless is non-culpable homicide. There are murders for revenge, murders for money etc. in present days. What was most war in the past, other than murder for their land and properties.

THAT depends on whom is doing the defining.

The distinction is often blurred. AND human beings have the quaint habit of redefining 'murder' to suite circumstances. Politicians and religions are expert at such moral sleight of hand. -----Then there are the psychos, opportunists and the mentally deficient who rave on about one of the more obscene oxymorons;the just war.

No, I'm pretty sure Murder and Warfare are still two different things, regardless of moral implications. There's a meaningful difference when having a conversation. You can argue warfare is murder, and that's an interesting debate on it's own, but if Joe Smith down the street kills his wife, that's not warfare.
