We Had To Let Lady Go Today

RE: We Had To Let Lady Go Today
Sorry, Min. Dogs make better friends than people. We treat them better when they're dying, too.

All we can do is cherish having loved them so much.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.

The decision wasn't so hard...Lady knew a day before we did that it was over and we'll definitely get another one. I have already let the Rescue's Placement Team know that we'll foster a senior dog if and when they need us. As long as the new arrival gets along with my male...and he gets along with everybody....the dog will never leave.

Sorry for your loss, Min.

The vet came to my place to euthanize my golden, Poppy. His kindness helped make a bad day bearable.

We have a Golden Retriever Rescue League hereabouts.

Min, (I hope you don't mind me calling you that) I am so sorry.

It's like losing a member of the family. *hug*

Very sorry to hear. It sounds like you gave her a good life in her last few years.

As an animal lover myself, I know how important our critters are.

Sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is never easy.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Exceptionally painful watching a pet die.

No one envy's you today. I hope your sadness passes quickly.

I don't think I'll ever recover from losing my golden retriever..he was light yellow like yoursSmile I think it's sweet beyond words you get the senior pups knowing that their end is in the nearer future.. takes a strong heart and a sweet soulWink There are so many puppies (I call all dogs that) out there that need love.. Good luck finding your new forever friend, may they lay at your feet and never leave Heart
big bunny hugs!
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Again, thanks to everyone for your kind words.

We had this picture taken of her in June. She was Miss September in our calendar.

oddly she looks like the doggy representation of how I imagine you to be Big Grin She must be exceedingly happy in that picture, that's the look Teddy got *only* when chasing rabbits!
