I kinda think its overdone, myself. Too much spectacle and not enough quiet contemplation. And really, Easter should be the premier Christian holiday since it marks the most important aspect of the religion.

Yes, the Pagan day of the worship of the fertility goddess Eostre is the day Christians should celebrate more closely by using the fertility symbols of eggs and rabbits.

Even with the eggs and bunnies, there's a lot more Christian religion in Easter than in Christmas.

So I've read about Sarah Palin's book, about the war on Christmas. Not read the book itself because I'm really, really fed up of first world Christians whining about being persecuted and I suspect it would make me cross.

I have a question for you atheist folks.

If I, being a Christian, wished you a happy Christmas, would you be OK with that? Are there any circumstances you would find it offensive?

That would be awesome, i watched a lot of american movies Wink Kevin from Home Alone said marry christmas, ITS A CRIME NOW to say it, loooooool, oooh no please dont jail me for saying merry christmas haha XD

Go to any Church during the Easter/Passover time (it's directly linked to the Jewish Passover and most languages don't differentiate between the two) and you will see quite a bit of reverence. Instead of only two days (Christmas and Three Kings Day if I recall correctly), it's celebrated for upwards of 80 days....the 40 days of Lent prior to Easter and the 40 Days of Pentecost afterwards.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
