Is Mexico under attack by Satan?

To some it may seem extraordinary, but priests say the country is under attack by Satan, and that more exorcists are needed to fight him.

This attack, they say, is showing itself in the gruesome drug-related violence, including human sacrifice, that has engulfed the country since 2006.

According to the latest official figures available, at least 70,000 people have died in this period, including gunmen, members of the security forces, and many innocent civilians.

Or, just maybe, it's because of the massive drug cartel wars that are going on. The cartel's, of course, have been around for ages, as has the violence and bloodshed that go along with them.

Yes, Mexicans practically pee tiny popes and virgin Marys. You drive down a street and you will see houses with a giant virgin Mary painted on the front wall, a little altar in front of the door, you walk in and you will see rosaries hanging here and there, a saint for almost everything in life (a saint for weed, a saint for prostitution, a saint for luck, a saint for love, etc). If you are not catholic, you are a disgrace. Period.

Yeah, I've spent almost a year in Mexico on and off in the last three years. It is a different level of religiousness that secular people in the United States have a difficult time even understanding. Shrines on every block, ostentatious churches in the middle of slums. Not to mention the way that these good Catholics think of women who aren't living up to the moral standard. I think the Catholic Church has set that country back 20 years at least.
