But I looked up the wiki article on Tom van Flandern.

That was amusing.

it looks like you are defending a belief system without any substance.

Do you think you're the first random stranger to drift by here and confidently assert that "you can't prove X isn't true, so nyah nyah!" without a shred of backing evidence, or even a cogent argument beyond "you're all wrong!"? Dodgy

Yes, that angle, so unless you something substantive we're done here.

You're an idiot. They use an approximated formula - that'd be like using an approximate pi value instead of one of the "correct" complicated formulas like 355/113 which would still be accurate enough for almost every real-world use we have for it.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

That wasn't a debate.
That was some lunatic espousing the crackpot theories of another lunatic.

Offcourse not!

But on the other hand, you see how irrational it all is.
It shouldn't matter if it was a stranger or whatever, because in the end it is not about who is saying it,
so, you are proving my point that it is about a belief system and not something which is very logical and rational, far from it.

Pffft, you're not the first babbling idiot to sully these forums with your inane drivel and you won't be the last.

So again, unless you have something of actual substance to offer, we are done here.

It would be highly irrational to believe every lunatic who had some crackpot theory backed up only by "you can't prove me wrong!"

Quote:It shouldn't matter if it was a stranger or whatever, because in the end it is not about who is saying it,

My point wasn't that you were a stranger, but that your entire argument is one big fallacy, presented in the most obnoxious way possible.

Oh, fuck off, you petty little troll. Rolleyes

Present something more than a fallacy, and you might be taken seriously. But we can all see how much you're tapdancing to avoid having to support your claim at all, which shows how little support there must actually be, in there.
