I don't know why he didn't stop her. Are you saying that if he didn't stop her he shouldn't exist. For God to exist does he have to control our every move? Why can't he let us make decisions for ourselves?

Apparently god sends natural disasters to punish people all the time.

Yet he couldn't intervene to stop her from killing her kids.

Not a very nice god there mate.

I imagine natural disasters just happen. I sure he could have intervened to stop the murder, just as he could intervene in every single aspect of our lives. Sorry that you don't think he's very nice.

Watch out Minimalist. We're agreeing on more and more things.

So why didn't your god stop her then?

The Bible says that God will have mercy on those he wants to have mercy on.

Isn't that a contradiction of terms.

Quote:Yet he couldn't intervene to stop her from killing her kids.

Not a very nice god there mate.

Why do you believe God should fix everything people do wrong, shouldn't we not allowed to learn from our mistakes. That's exactly what's wrong with this generation, they want to do their thing yet when they mess up they want mommy to fix it and to many times mommy bails them out.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

The older generations have been moaning about that for thousands of years.

Socrates Wrote:"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for
authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place
of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their
households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They
contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties
at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."

Usually the appropriate response is:

And social progress happens, until the same people turn crotchety and old and start complaining about "the youth of today" and yelling about them getting off the lawn.

Were I to believe in a just, benevolent god I would, at the very least, expect some form of intervention when it comes to things like... oh, I don't know... the murdering of toddlers.

But no, you're right, that would just be whining for mummy to fix everything. Dodgy

Do you read the shit you type or do you just breeze through your responses without giving it any real thought?

RE: Abraham, Isaac, and a Dead Toddler
The Bible actually has a story about this. The God character was blabbing and he said that he gave men a long list of rules to see if they were stupid enough to follow them, such as sacrificing their children. His thinking was that if people were smart they would recognize that the rules were BS and wouldn't follow them. But they were dummies and some of them did.

Like the Job story the intent could be to see what the survivors do when they experience disasters. For instance, if a person claims to believe in God does he get all mopey when bad things happen or does he just accept it as part of God's will? After all, one of the model prayers is that God's will will be done on Earth as it is in heaven. So if a psychopath kills a believer's family why would the believer get all bent out of shape? It was God's will.

It's like the Pope riding around in the pope mobile. He's demonstrating through his actions that he doesn't trust God to keep him safe from harm. If he really believed in his favorite deity he would accept whatever happens to him because it's all part of God's will, which he said a prayer about at least once in his life.

So if there is a God as depicted in the Bible it's foolish for believers to get all bent out of shape when disasters strike them. It's all part of God's will and he's just checking to see if they really believe. Out of the over 7 billion people on the planet now I'll bet that fewer than 100,000 actually believe in God. All of the other professed believers are just faking it.

Again I ask, since you decided to skirt the question, why should God correct every problem we are responsible for, it is man who commits the sinful acts shouldn't we be held responsible for correcting things. Please try to answer the questions and stop your skirting.

Each paragraph is wrong in so many ways it's ROFLOL laughable. I wouldn't know where to begin to correct all the wrong.

I think it's more that we don't believe it exists at all. At least not based on current claims and/or evidence.
