Not sure what you mean here, but there's nothing wrong with Christians congratulating each other on being Christians, per se. Reasons are important. If they're glad-handing about making some member of a minority group feel like shit, they're being despicable. If they're patting each other on the back for raising money to open a women's shelter, good on them. It's not our fault so many of our recent theist visitors have been nutcases. When nutcases take on a Christian forum, they get a similar reaction, and reasonably so. Mickiel trolled Christians before he trolled us, and got banned quicker.

It's funny when believers speak of scientism as a "religion" or something that otherwise carries negative connotations. Or when they say, "there are realms of knowledge that science is not equipped to deal with," as if science necessitates a person in a white lab coat with a test tube in his hand.

Scientism is a complex term, and is sometimes defined as over-reliance on science, like if someone in a labcoat said it, it must be true. In that sense, scientism is not a good thing, by definition. Best to make sure what the person you're talking to means by 'scientism'. A cult-like belief in everything scientists say without careful examination is scientism, but it's not scientific.

Most atheists in America have been at least nominal Christians. Our numbers have doubled in recent years. We're not popping into existence spontaneously.

Our reasons for leaving vary, but often involve a realization that when we're talking to Jesus, we're really talking to ourselves: 'Jesus' can't tell us anything we don't already know, he's an imaginary friend. He might have some use as a psychological prop for some people, but that doesn't make him real. It's usually much more complicated than that though.
