There are sufficient reasons for these conclusions so your insistance in believing is driven by a desire to wish that it is true. I will grant exceptins for children, those with mental disabilities, and those without access to information all of whom by the way would have to have been indoctrinated. If, hypothetically, your god turned out to be real and he was represented accurately in your Bible? Sure, if he were to present himself and leave no doubt that he was real I'd have to accept that. I think I would prefer to just go on nonchalantly ignoring the whole silly choice until such time as your hypothetical becomes manifest. This is why the debate is inherently biased. I've heard Christians say that if they didn't believe in God and the bible that they would go out and do horrible things, murder and rape etc. That the bible is the only thing stopping them from that. Aside from that extremely frightening image, can you imagine if an Atheist answered non-jokingly that they would go out and strangle as many hookers as possible. So I think that's my answer. If I believed in God and Jesus I would strangle hookers.

I used to truly believe there was a god and he was the god of the bible. I "defiantly" rejected him a little over a year before I was brave enough to branch out and learn some science and accept that he wasn't real. So yea, been there done that, got the tshirt.

I'd simply acknowledge the fact that he exists and go on with my life. As far as putting my faith in Christ, I have no need. I already have someone concerned with my every move, listening to my private thoughts and judging them, constantly differentiating my actions between right and wrong, forgiving me for my sins and that job is presently occupied by ME.
