This is one of the problems I have with Abrahamic religions; specifically Islam and Christianity. Its about forcing me to choose something out of fear. Wait, ITS NOT EVEN A CHOICE, ETERNAL SUFFERING AND DESTRUCTION OR GETTING HIGH WORSHIPING A DEITY FOR ETERNITY!

What if one does not seek pleasure, joy, happiness in this life? Do they suffer less or not at all in hell?

God belief is a form of anthropomorphism, it is merely humans projecting their own desires. Humans want control over their environments, by gaining such we evolve to create more opportunity to have offspring. The problem is that natural evolutionary drive is conflated to a comic book character.

Having an outsider fear you is a way of protecting yourself, so we create gods that reflect our own behaviors. It is the most insidious flaw in our species evolution.

You do not need to fear a god

To date - ALL The gods that we can prove to have existed have died.

AND those other gods - cannot be proven to have existed =or exist.

You would have to wonder WHY a god would create joy- happiness - ad pleasure if it was not his desire for us to enjoy them.

And you also have to wonder why the ONLY creator god - would create EVIL (No other creator means there is ONLY ONE CHOICE) - and yet claim to be ALL good!

As defined by ther religions - the Pharaohs of Egypt - and several Leaders of the Mayan and Incan cultures were gods. We can prove they existed because we have their remains.

No, all finding bodies proves is that humans existed and had certain beliefs. There still is no such thing as an invisible sky hero. Making up and falsely believing gods are real does not make the god real.

As long as you obey your spouse and don't try to leave him he won't beat you. But even when you do everything he wants he still beats you. But have no fear after he beats you he brings you flowers and tells you he did it for your own good.

The flowers won't arrive, of course, until after you die, but rest assured he will beat you to death out of love so you can receive the flowers sooner.

But don't think you deserve the flowers, because you are a sinner, and it is only by his grace that you are allowed the flowers.

Everyone in these cultures knew that their gods on Earth were going to die, though, and their deities didn't let them down in this respect.

There's a god currently living in Britain.

Prince Philip Movement

According to ancient tales, the son of a mountain spirit travelled over the seas to a distant land. There he married a powerful lady and in time would return to them. He was sometimes said to be a brother to John Frum of the cargo cult.

The people of the Yaohnanen area believe that Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the consort to Queen Elizabeth II, is this divine being. They had seen the respect accorded to Queen Elizabeth II by the colonial officials and concluded that her husband, Prince Philip, must be the son referred to in their legends.

It is unclear just when this belief came about, but it was probably some time in the 1950s or 1960s. It was strengthened by the royal couple's official visit to Vanuatu in 1974, when a few villagers had the opportunity to actually see Prince Philip from a distance. The Prince was not then aware of the cult, but it was brought to his attention several years later by John Champion, the British Resident Commissioner in the New Hebrides.

Champion suggested that Prince Philip send them a portrait of himself. He agreed and sent a signed official photograph. The villagers responded by sending him a traditional pig-killing club called a nal-nal. In compliance with their request, the Prince sent a photograph of himself posing with the club. It would be difficult convincing these people that their god doesn't exist. They probably won't be surprised when he dies either because the son of a mountain spirit would just go back to being a spirit.
