The advice to go out and get some sunshine is good. Your body needs vitamin b from the sun to combat depression.

I have exactly the same problem: overly dwelling on the past. I think it's a bad habit you get into. You've made me realise that I've not suffered from it for a while. What certainly cures it is getting a life. Focusing on the now. I find having practical problems engages your mind in positive thoughts. I had a house to improve and focusing on that was very therapeutic.
