Neither my testimony or yours proves or disproves the bible. Testimony can cause you to seek God, but it doesn't prove anything in itself. My thought is that you weren't really willing to give your life over to him, but then, maybe you were, which would prove me wrong, but not that the bible is wrong.

So your arguing for something that you can't disprove and can't prove. Then what you are proposing is just bullshit.

I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that I can't make you believe. Can you prove everything you believe?

For the most part, YES. My only axioms are: I exist, the universe exist, and I can learn something about the universe. The rest comes from deductive and inductive reasoning.

if theism is true then it proves our existence to be pointless and not valuable.
only because we would live forever in spirit either worshiping and doing bidding for a dark lord, or being happy forcibly forever worshiping god on our knees.

If I get the testimony of 100 people that the food at a particular restaurant is delicious and the price was right, I'd be led to try that restaurant. If I then discovered for myself that the food was delicious, then I'd most likely go back.

But that's my point: you don't have that testimony. You're attempting to sweep all the contradictions and differing interpretations under the rug and pretend they don't exist: an accurate version of your restaurant analogy would be that you have one hundred people, and they all claim the restaurant serves different things, and some deny that the restaurant even serves the favorite dishes that other people recommended, and nobody can agree on what kind of restaurant it is.

Stop pretending that you have anything like a unified, consistent set of testimony regarding god, Lek. It's dishonest, and the 30,000 denominations of your one religion easily put the lie to it.

Quote:I believe that people of all faiths can have real experiences with God, even though their doctrines may be incorrect. God calls us all to him and will not reject anyone who faithfully seeks him. It's my belief that if you truly seek God you will find him.

... But you'll not all find the same god, which kinda hints that what they're finding isn't god at all, but just whatever pretense they wanted to find. Dodgy

Actually, we'll be living forever in our bodies on a recreated earth. That's the significance of the physical resurrection. We're not going to be kneeling on spiritual knees for eternity praising God. We'll be living our lives in our bodies and praising God as we live and do things.

What did I say that would lead you to believe that existence is meaningless? Life with God is not meaningless.

So you need meaning to live because,...I kinda fail to see how life can not exist without some kind meaning.

Exactly how I feel about Christianity. Your sole purpose in life and afterlife is to praise a deity who created you for the sole purpose of having someone to praise him? YOU PASS BUTTER.

It doesn't need to have meaning, but it does. I also prefer it to have meaning.
