Here in Ohio, a huge majority of people I talk to don't care that he's black, they just don't like that he's "a stupid nigger". Then, they back peddle when I call them out on blatant racism, trying their hardest to come up with an actual talking point. I realize other states exist, but this is what I hear most in mine. This represents my experience the truest.

I'll relate a true story. Back in 2008 I went to drop off my ballot. I happened to run into an acquaintance doing the same thing. I told him that Obama was going to win. He replied, "well at least my conscious will be clear that I didn't vote for that nigger". Fast forward to 2012 and this acquaintance of mine is the most die-hard Hermain Cain supporter I ever met.

My acquaintance is clearly racist. His racism isn't what caused him to dislike Obama nor did it dampen his support for Herman Cain. You see, presidential elections are no longer about the person anymore. The person running is incidental....its all about ideology now. Ideology has no color.

This is a good point. A Bush running would certainly motivate the liberal locksteppers and that could make the difference. It is certainly not an automatic win for the dems as you suggest.

And yet, W Bush arrived to lead us during an age of peace and prosperity and then he lied us into a war, destroyed the economy and trashed our reputation around the globe. Name for me one (1) thing Bush did that was positive. His entire presidency, no matter what anyone thinks of it, was an unmitigated disaster, leaving the country a smoldering wreckage.

Obama came in to lead this country during the greatest financial crisis since the Depression and salvaged the economy. Maybe it wasn't a boom time like the last time a Democrat was in the White House but I wouldn't trade it for the economic collapse we were suffering during the last quarter of 2008. A sluggish recovery beats economic collapse.

All of that is just the empirical data. These are historical facts one would have to be deluded to dispute.

But you're right about the opinions of half the likely voters.

This is why this country elected Bush in 2004 even after everyone paying attention knew that he'd lied us into a war.

This is why 46% of American voters in 2008 were just fine with voting for Sarah Palin as VP, placing her only one heartbeat of an elderly cancer patient who occupies the most stressful job in the world away from the Oval Office.

This is why the GOP could run any candidate, no matter how inept, no matter how stupid, no matter how badly the campaign is run, and still be guaranteed of getting at least 9/20 voters on election day.

That's the problem.

That's what this thread is about.

That's why we're in big trouble as a country.

Did he try to explain what a "nigger" is, and how that makes him not racist? That's my favorite move. Clearly, your friend cares about ideology.

He would have a guilty conscious if Herman won, and immediately set out bombing Uzbeki-beki-beki-stan.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Obama made permanent many of the tax cuts implemented by Bush....presumably because those cuts were good for the nation.

What a coincidence, that's what a lot of people in TN and KY has been calling him these last six years. I tried to tell them his real name, but they couldn't pronounce it. I figure I really need to move out if the south one of these days.

Or they were one of many peace offerings Obama handed the GOP.

But hey, the tax cuts created so much economic prosperity during the W Bush years. Oh wait...

Well, at least they created jobs, except that W Bush had the worst rate of job growth since WWII.

Well, at least they paid for themselves like they were supposed to, except that W Bush squandered the surplus and doubled the debt.

That "cut taxes and that'll work" is still seriously considered and debated only proves the point of the OP.

We're in big trouble.

Sadly, Woodie, all you show is that when FOX tells you something you are such a fucking idiot that you believe it.

Pull your head out of your ass.

Even this is dated...

Quote:The U.S. Treasury announced last Thursday that the federal deficit was $128.7 billion in August. That’s 13 percent lower than it was during the same month last year.

Washington typically records a budget surplus in September and $80 billion or so in black ink is in fact projected for next month. If that occurs as expected, the deficit for all of 2014 will be about $500 billion. That will be more than 26 percent below 2013 and the smallest federal deficit by far since 2008.
And you know who was president in 2008, right Woodie?

And the Dow Jones closed today :

Quote:Dow Jones Industrial Average
Dow Jones Indices: .DJI - Dec 18 4:52 PM ET
17,778.15

Which is nearly 5,000 points higher than whenever that image was created. The black guy did alright....compared to what Bush the Shithead left him.
