Min already nailed it, we have nothing to compare it to. The bible, and christians, have not provided any meaningful definition of what "God" is. You can't compare a new, unknown DNA strand to fevered rantings of text. All we would have is unknown DNA. So the answer is no on all counts.
Also, the whole point of "faith" is belief without evidence. So if they did find proof God exists, they would no longer need faith to believe in him, it would just be common knowledge. There would be no more atheists. However, that doesn't mean that everyone will worship him or that he'll be anything like they described. The last thing they want is for this to happen, yet they keep pushing for it for some reason. It's lucky for them that they are persueing an impossible goal. God is a useless word. It just makes massive, unnecessary assumptions. Sure, something would have been the initial cause of our reality, if it needed a cause. That something could be intelligent life. It does not follow that this creator suddenly has infinite powers, or that it gives half a shit about it's creation. That is just storytelling and imagination. Feel free to send me a private message.
