You could invite your friend to experiment with scaling up her prayers, and see what happens. Pray for things that have virtually no chance to happen on their own.
-Amputees worldwide to grow their limbs back -Everyone with cancer worldwide goes into remission -Food growth increases massively where needed to end all world hunger That sort of thing. Deep down, theists must know that a prayer of that magnitude is an absolute waste of time and they must only pray for things which can happen anyway, or else they'll fail. How long would she be prepared to keep praying for those things until giving it up as pointless? I mean, come on people with these wobbly little prayers. "Oh lord, can you please alter your divine plan so I can get this job. This is the sort of thing that can actually just happen, so it's worth praying for. If it doesn't happen, that is my fault of course, not yours and I'll soon forget about it." Feel free to send me a private message.

She says that she can only pray for "expedient" things, i.e. convenient, easy, likely to happen anyway sorts of things.
